Welcome to Class 10W
This year 3 class is taught by Mrs Williams, with support from Mrs Lomano and Miss Foulkes.
You can learn more about our topics for this year below:
Frank Einstein and the antimatter motor by Jon Scieszka – with a focus on newspaper report writing, letter writing, and persuasive posters.
Charlie and the Chocolate factory by Roald Dahl – with a focus on information leaflets, and writing instructions
Our picture book for this term is ‘Window’ by Jeannie Baker, a book that looks at changing environments. Each class will focus on a country taking part in the football World, using the children’s own ideas and geographical questions as a starting point.
Our science focus for this term is sustainable earth, which includes the importance of recycling, materials and water.
Homework is set on Fridays, and should be returned by the following Wednesday. Homework tasks may include: a revision of maths skills covered during the week, spellings to learn, or research based on our current topic. In addition to homework, reading at home and practising the times tables will greatly benefit your child when they come into class.
As PE days are liable to change, and as the improving weather means that there may be additional PE sessions. Please make sure that PE kits are left in school until the holidays when kits can be checked for size etc.
