Our Topics in Class 12
Autumn Term: Frank Einstein and the Antimatter Motor by Jon Scieszka
Spring Term: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dhal
Summer Term: Window by Jeannie Baker
What We Have Planned
We have entered the final school term we have a lot planned and much to look forward to.
Children will be focusing on Geography skills during the final term. As the World Cup is approaching, children will be given the opportunity to look at a country in great detail.
Alongside the project which the children will be working on, we will be looking at the book ‘Window’ By Jeannie Baker. The book explores issues of how human behavior is changing the environment. The children will be writing to ‘discuss’ focusing on leaflets, letters and non-fiction books.
Homework will be given out on a Friday and returned the following Wednesday.
Regular reading is a skill for children to develop. In school, we teach children to read and interpret a variety of texts frequently through Reading Powers. Children are expected to read at home every night. In my opinion, regular reading is a vital key to unlocking children’s success in Language so reading widely outside of school will be greatly appreciated.
Please ensure all children have the appropriate, full PE kit in school as we will be practising for sports day this half term.
