Welcome to Year 2
Year 2 at Broughton is an important Foundation Phase year where children grow in independence, confidence, and responsibility. Building on strong foundations, pupils are encouraged to take greater ownership of their learning, work collaboratively, and reflect on their progress. Learning is rooted in the Curriculum for Wales and brought to life through engaging, purposeful activities linked to real-life experiences.
Children deepen their reading, writing, and maths skills through practical tasks, discussion, and high-quality texts that support curiosity and thinking. Outdoor learning enhances wellbeing and problem-solving. Wellbeing remains central, with pupils supported to build resilience, positive relationships, and confidence, helping them become motivated learners for the next stage of their education.
